
Piedone action
The Sky series Piedone the Sbirro is filmed in Naples in via Egiziaca a Forcella, near the Annunziata Hospital. Filming continues in Naples for the Sky Original series “Piedone, lo sbirro”, inspired by the legendary films starring Bud Spencer from the 70s and 80s. Protagonist Salvatore Esposito in the role of inspector Vincenzo Palmieri, Piedone’s “student”. Also in the cast is Fabio Balsamo, actor and member of the group The Jackal.
This time the set of the series moves to Forcella, in via Egiziaca, to be precise, at numbers 29-33, near the Presidio Ospedaliero dell’Annunziata, and behind the Basilica of the Santissima Annunziata Maggiore. It is a street not far from Corso Umberto I and Piazza Garibaldi, in the heart of Naples. There is great anticipation for this 4-part TV series, produced by Sky Studios, Wildside, a Fremantle group company and Titanus Production. The screenplay is by Peppe Fiore, while Alessio Maria Federici directs. For 5 months, meanwhile, the former Duca D’Aosta State Middle School in via Flavio Gioia will host the troupe’s offices, until 29 February 2024, thanks to an agreement with the Municipality of Naples.
In Bud Spencer’s films, the leading actor played Deputy Commissioner Rizzo, a policeman with a rough but persuasive manner, flanked by Brigadier Gaetano Caputo, played by the great Neapolitan actor Enzo Cannavale.
